Open-source models save the day: HuggingFace hacked, a model refused forensic audit, GLM-5.2 came to the rescue
#ArtificialIntelligence Open-source models proved indispensable at a critical moment: HuggingFace suffered a cyber attack. When the platform attempted to use Claude for forensic analysis, it was repeatedly denied access. Ultimately, HuggingFace had to locally deploy the open-source GLM-5.2 to complete the forensics. After detecting the anomaly, HF planned to use a cutting-edge model for forensics, but consistently encountered blocks from security boundaries. HF did not disclose the name of this cutting-edge model, though it is most likely Claude Fable 5. Eventually, HF deployed GLM-5.2 on its local cluster to complete data analysis and forensics.
