Rare sight: The PolarNode free server promotion on an NS forum was actually a phishing campaign that used an iOS vulnerability to launch attacks
#Security News: An attack targeting iOS users at the kernel level appeared in the NS community, using a free server promotion to lure users into opening a webpage. The promotional page concealed a complete exploit chain targeting a Safari vulnerability, compromising users running older versions of iOS. The phishing campaign targeted iOS 18.6, 18.6.1, and 18.6.2. Users who suspect they have been compromised are advised to back up photos and other data, then erase the device and reinstall the system. This phishing campaign also serves as a reminder of the importance of keeping iOS updated. Do not assume that iOS attack campaigns target only high-value targets; ordinary users can also be targeted.
