Hong Kong Server Provider Netfront Suffers Major Security Incident; 22 Zone C Hypervisors Attacked by Hackers

#Security Alert Important security reminder: Hong Kong server provider Netfront was compromised while using PVE 7. Users are advised to back up their data immediately as a precaution. The company sent a mass email to users last night notifying them of a security issue in Zone C, but Zones A and B may also be affected. A cybersecurity user confirmed to Landian Network that Netfront uses the PVE 7 series. The relevant host-machine IP addresses were exposed on an observation platform, so directly accessing IP:8006 and then using a 2FA/TFA token could provide root privileges on the host machine.
